College Park isn’t exactly known for its dining scene, especially compared to the other “Parks” around town. Thankfully though, Edgewater is slowing emerging with a few hidden gems, and RusTeak is certainly among this growing dining group. We recently ventured out on a rainy evening to explore the RusTeak “buzz” firsthand.

At RusTeak you’ll experience both a modern and timeless vibe mixed into one atmosphere. Their core menu is a blend of family recipes, twisted classics, made-from-scratch food, and seasonal menus. It’s both casual and upscale, refined and comforting. A place you’ll want to return to time after time for both it’s menu and environment.

Here’s what we enjoyed and feasted on during our most recent visit:

  • Pan Roasted Mussels: with sauteed garlic, white wine, tomatoes, herbs, panko bread crumbs and served with grilled focaccia bread. This colorful plate received high marks from those at my table. A must try if you’re a mussels connoisseur.
  • Great Expectations Charcuterie Board: with salami, grapes, berries, marcona almonds, goat cheese and a few other goodies. An impressive presentation spanning nearly the length of our table – and the pieces were equally stunning. Pair it with a glass of their Kuentz-Bas Pinot Gris.

  • American Kobe Burger: loaded up with herb mayo, sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, swiss cheese, beefsteak tomatoes all on a toasted brioche bun. While I loved the burger and the richness of flavor, the bistro fries were even more exceptional. These spuds were seasoned with a blend of spices that were most interesting to the palate.

  • Bread Pudding: housemade with dark chocolate cran-raisins and blueberries topped with vanilla bean ice cream and white chocolate sauce. Talk about love at first sight, this mountain high treat was such a delight and joy to taste! The white chocolate sauce and cran-raisins brought out a fascinating sweetness that wasn’t too sugary. This is a darn good dessert y’all. Make sure you save room!
